Y4-6: Join the library student monitor team!

Love the library and want to be part of the action? We’re looking for enthusiastic Year 4–6 students to join the Library Team! If you are energetic, helpful, and excited to give back, you can volunteer just one break or lunch play session per week at your assigned time.

What you’ll be doing:

• Shelving Books: Put returned books back in their correct homes.

• Tidying Shelves: Keep our collection looking neat, tidy, and organized.

• Assisting Others: Help fellow students, teachers, and parents find great reads and use library resources.

• Reading Buddies: Share your love of stories by reading aloud to our younger students.

• Special Projects: Pitch in with fun library team tasks and events as they pop up!

After School Writing Club

Calling all young writers who want to learn about the writing process and be a published author. Our After School Writing Club is back and it’ll be held 3:00-4:30, Mondays (Years 3 & 4) and Fridays (Years 5 & 6) at our KJS Library. 

Over the course of 13 weeks, students will study a particular genre of story and then write their own to be published in an anthology with other students. Students will learn to plan, draft, revise and edit like real authors and the final books sold will support local charities. 

Please note that weekly classes are taught by Elephant Community Press (ECP) Teachers and not by KJS. Interested students should contact ECP at info@elephantcommunitypress.com. 

Library bag order forms

Remember that all students are required to have a library bag in order to borrow books from the library. 

If your child’s library bag is missing or damaged, replacement bags can be purchased directly from our Library (link). Please note that payment will be made through your ESF Hub account.
