Battle of the Books is a live school-on-school battle to find the book trivia champion school. Hong Kong Battle of the Books committee will create a list of 20 titles that are shared amongst competing schools.
In term 1, Year 5 and 6 students are introduced to the Battle of the Books club and the rules of the competition. All Year 5 & 6 students are able to borrow the 20 titles in library class and are encouraged to read as many of the books as possible.
In December, students will be encouraged to apply for the weekly club through a Google Form. All students who apply are invited to a tryout during the first week of Term 2, in January.
Selected students will be notified and team members will be asked to join weekly practice meetings until the competition in May. The final 12 members will represent KJS to battle out their knowledge of the books with the other students in Hong Kong.

BOB Rules
RULES
Teams consist of a maximum of 12 members, with 6 members playing each round.
A round consists of 12 questions.
Each team has 20 seconds to answer after each question.
A question answered incorrectly is passed across to the other team, who then have 10 seconds to answer.
Correct answer scores : 2 points for the correct title and 1 point for the correct author. A maximum of 2 points can be scored for passover questions.
The winner of the competition is the team accruing the most points.
