Year 1 VG Trip to Kabaka's Palace
Our students visited Kabaka's Palace earlier this month, a trip that turned out to be both enjoyable and educational for all the children.
The excitement was clear on the children’s faces as they were eager to explore the palace grounds and immerse themselves in the rich history of this significant Ugandan landmark. As they walked through the historic compound, the students were fascinated by the stories of the Kabakas (Kings), their legacy, and the cultural importance of the palace.
One of the highlights of this visit was seeing the old cannon and the vintage royal vehicle, which sparked much curiosity and discussion among the children. They were also intrigued by the paintings and murals, many of which held important historical messages. The guides did a fantastic job of explaining the details in a child-friendly manner, making the experience even more engaging.

Amazing Athletes of Year 1 VG
Our recent Sports Day was an incredible success! The day was packed with energy, excitement, and plenty of smiles as the children enthusiastically participated in a variety of races and sporting activities. very child took part with great enthusiasm, showing wonderful team spirit, determination, and sportsmanship. It was heartwarming to see the encouragement they gave one another, the cheers from their peers, and the sheer joy on their faces as they crossed the finish lines—each effort celebrated equally, regardless of the outcome.
At our school, we believe that sports are not just about physical activity—they are a vital part of a child’s education. Research consistently highlights how physical exercise helps improve concentration, mental wellbeing, teamwork skills, and overall academic performance. We embrace these values wholeheartedly and are proud to provide opportunities where children can develop both physically and emotionally. Sports Day was a beautiful reminder of how much our young learners thrive when given the space to move, play, and challenge themselves.
A big thank you to all the parents for supporting and cheering our young athletes!

Year 2CN End of Unit Projects - Animal Habitats!
Our Year 2 students recently wrapped up their "Animal Habitats" unit with some wonderful presentations! It was so inspiring to see their understanding of where animals live and why, and how every creature finds just what it needs to thrive in its own special part of the world. They shared so much impressive knowledge!
They showed an understanding that a habitat is simply where an animal chooses to live. Ronia, and Raphael put it so perfectly when they explained that animals pick their specific spots because that's where they can find all the important stuff: food, water, air, and safety from predators. It makes so much sense when you think about it!
Samantha and Shazia took us on a super chilly adventure to the North Pole, showing how amazing animals like polar bears and arctic foxes manage to thrive in such freezing temperatures. They shared how they find their food in the vast sea and even snuggle down for a long winter nap by hibernating. Brrr! Riva pointed out the adaptations made by the Penguins in the South pole.
Anir, Torife and Claire then explained the wild African Savanna. They vividly described how meat-eating animals hunt for their meals and how they quench their thirst by finding water from the rain or cool lakes and ponds. For shelter, the boys noted, they might seek refuge in cozy caves or simply find shade under the big trees. Claire emphasized that the plant eating giraffes have access to lots of leaves from the trees in the Savanna.
Finally, Takumi, Branwen, Maria and Tiffany made a big splash as they explored the ocean to introduce us to sharks and other sea creatures. They highlighted the sea animals' unique ability to breathe underwater using gills, emphasizing that the entire sea provides them with all their necessities: food, air, and a safe place to live.
Year 2CN have developed such an in-depth understanding of the natural world and how incredibly clever animals are at adapting to their surroundings.
