End of term baking – Making Bread!
Early food experiences are crucial for developing healthy eating habits and a positive relationship with food. They help children explore different tastes, textures and smells, fostering a love for healthy eating and encouraging them to try new foods. These experiences also contribute to social, cognitive and emotional development. - As is tradition in KG3, we always end off our term with a food experience. This time around we had a lovely sensory activity, where the children made their own bread. The children had fun squeezing every bit of dough through their fingers, pulling and stretching, even sneaking in a tiny little taste. And then the anticipation of watching the bread 'grow' in the oven. The children were mesmerized by the smell and they could hardly contain themselves waiting for their bread creations to cool down. Our bread was served with vegan chocolate spread and strawberry jam. What a lovely way to end off a balmy Tuesday afternoon.

Step Up Day was a special and exciting experience for our KG3 children as they took a big step forward by visiting the Reception class. The aim of this visit was to help the children become familiar with their new learning environment, teachers, and routines for the upcoming school year. The children were warmly welcomed by the Reception staff, who had planned fun and engaging activities for them.
During the visit, the KG3 students explored the new classrooms, played with different toys and learning materials, and participated in circle time. They enjoyed story sessions, sang songs, and even got to try some hands-on activities such as puzzles, drawing, and building blocks. It was a great opportunity for the children to build confidence and ease any anxieties they may have about the transition.
The experience was joyful and positive. Many children came back to KG3 excitedly sharing what they saw and did. Step Up Day helped them understand what to expect in Reception and sparked their enthusiasm for the next chapter in their learning journey. It was a successful day full of smiles, curiosity, and growing confidence!
