Using a feely bag activity, we discussed the shape, size and texture of items using their sense of touch. Other pupils from our group then had to guess what the item was.

At the sound station, we identified and described various familiar and unfamiliar noises being played on the speaker. We also talked about sounds that we might hear at home, at school, outside on yard etc and whether they are loud or soft sounds.

We stood 6 metres from the board and tested our eyesight using the letter sounds we know at the ‘Eye- Spy’ station.

Finally, we were blindfolded and had to guess what we smelt at the ‘Sniffer Station’.

Second Class were investigating the germs on their hands that we cannot see! WE used sliced pan to investigate. We had a control slice, a slice on touched by teacher, a slice touches by dirty hands and a slice touch by "clean" washed hands. The dirty hands got mouldy first, but the clean hands got mouldy almost as fast!

We observed the large tree in front of the school from the start of school in September. We found it took this tree approximately two months to shed all its autumnal leaves. The last photo was taken early November and as the weather turned colder the leaves fell quicker.

We enjoy the chance to explore the seasons for ourselves and learn through the senses, plus these outdoor activities are loads of fun!

Fifth Class did an experiment to see how our taste buds work!! Different parts of the tongue pick up

different tastes like sweet,sour,salty and bitter. Sight, smell and saliva we found also influence the

taste of foods.

First and Second Class used lots of fruits to discover about our sense of taste. We also spent time learning the value of the health benefits of healthy eating on the body.

Children from "Seoda learned all about the lifecycle of a frog and even saw some tadpoles!!

Children from "Seoda" did a celery experiment; observing how plants drink water and how it changes the colour of leaves.

1st and 2nd Class dissected the apple and investigated the parts of the apple. We also discovered it has air pockets to affect it's density making it possible to float.

We looked at the different effects of substances on the oxidisation of an apple and documented the results. The results were obvious from the colouring and the smells!

After placing in vinegar and baking soda we discovered that air pockets attached to the apple pips creating lots of dancing apple pips in the glass.
