Conservation International’s (CI’s) Conservation Stewards Program (CSP) works with communities who agree to protect their natural resources, as well as the benefits they provide, in exchange for a steady stream of compensation from investors. In this session we will review what a conservation agreement is and the steps to establish an agreement. We will then discuss how conservation agreements are used to solve community conservation problems, the challenges of such initiatives, and lessons learned from different processes.
