Choose any of the following tasks which will earn you one KMS Bacc Knowledge point.

7.1 Art Skills that Thrill

Art  Research a new skill or technique that interests you i.e., Marbling, bubble painting method, drawing upside down  etc. Find an artist who works in this style. Produce a detailed A4 information sheet. Include, title, information on the artist and their work, your own opinion, images of the artist’s work and your own study of their artwork. 

7.1 Music of Asia

Create a fact file about the traditional music from one Asian nation. You should include information about how the elements of music are used in the pieces and include links to sound files to demonstrate at least 3 examples of music. If you can, try to include musical language to describe the music. Even better if you can identify the key features of the music and discuss how effectively they are used in the music. 

7.1 Drama Hands & Faces

Explore and then demonstrate basic miming skills to an audience. Think about what skills you need to use when performing. How does your facial expression, gesture and body language change to suit the needs of the performance?  

7.1 Art Recreate a Masterpiece

Investigate and identify a famous painting. Try and recreate that painting as a scene by using people, animals, costumes, props and background and then photograph it for evidence.

7.2 Media Film Critic

Create a film review of your most recent cinema experience. You can create a written piece, or you can make your own Vlog. (Video Log) You must talk about the movie you saw and its strengths and weaknesses.  

7.2 Music Out of Africa

Look at the music from two African countries, if you can look for countries that are not close geographically eg North and South of the continent or East and West. Create a playlist of 3 pieces from each county providing links to sound files. Then write about as many elements of music as you can for each country’s music. You should then focus on any similarities or differences that you have noticed between the music of the two countries. Use the listening prompt card to help you use musical language to describe what you hear in the music.

7.3 Art Techniques

Research an artist who uses an interesting technique that interests you i.e., Marbling, bubble painting method, drawing upside down etc. Now produce at least 4 design ideas to support a final piece that demonstrates this idea. You may use any material or 3D model to  show your work. You may include photos or original artist work as your inspirations. Your work should be submitted digitally.
