It is possible to do two Field Periods in one year if your advisor supports it. However, consider where you are in your program because major-specific experiences especially can benefit from having more coursework being completed first. It is not possible to do two in one January term, however, it may be possible to do one in the January term and one in the summer or two in the summer if your advisor supports this. Spring and fall may also be possibilities but speak with your advisor about this and note that because there is no tuition costs for Field Period® credits. Field Period® credits cannot be used to support full-time status (i.e., 12+ credits per semester).
To remain on track towards graduation, you should be completing one Field Period® by the time you complete 30 credits, 2 by 60, 3 by 90, and 4 by 120.
OT students typically do two experiences at 1.5 credits each to meet the full 3-credit requirement each year. This response is not intended to address those doing two experiences at 1.5 credits each.
