This project (completed for my Information Systems Fundamentals course) represents the culmination of work completed in the series of Digital Technologies courses. In the first two courses of the series, we developed skills that included HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. In this third and final course we built on those fundamentals and completed a series of assignments to build a web app for a fictitious bookstore, including using PHP and MySQL to query and update a server-side database from the web interface, and to develop dashboard widgets like inventory lists and sales reports.
This project connects to my program’s fourth learning outcome:
“Evaluate systems and technologies relevant to a particular information context.”
It also relates to the ALA’s core competencies in the category of “Technological Knowledge and Skills,” specifically:
· Information, communication, assistive, and related technologies as they affect the resources, service delivery, and uses of libraries and other information agencies.
· The application of information, communication, assistive, and related technology and tools consistent with professional ethics and prevailing service norms and applications.
Below you will find a link to the site I created, as well as a PDF of screen shots with explanations of the functional requirements that were met.
