In the future, transportation will look a whole lot different to what it is today. In this course we will investigate aspects of electricity, magnetism and motion in the context of futuristic vehicles. We will make a solar powered car or boat to use throughout the unit and investigate how it works. We will use the vehicle to understand the aspects of mechanics, such as speed, acceleration and forces.
The standards which could be assessed against are:
Science 1.1 (90940) - Demonstrate understanding of aspects of mechanics (external)
Generic Technology 1.7 (91050) - Demonstrate understanding of the role of subsystems in technological systems (external)
Science 1.2 (90941) - Investigate implications of electricity and magnetism for everyday life (internal)
Physics 1.1 (90935) - Carry out a practical physics investigation that leads to a linear mathematical relationship, with direction (internal)
