You should have already identified the Achievement Standards that naturally assess learning outcomes. If you have not completed this please go back to the Learning and Identify the Learning Context pages.
Below is a suggested process for unpacking the Achievement Standards you have selected to support learning. To guide this process there is a grid to scaffold your thinking.
The grid has been broken down into three areas:
Do / Know - What are the key knowledge/ skills needed to succeed in this Achievement Standard?
Understand / Explain - How do learners create and/or communicate meaning needed to succeed in this Achievement Standard?
Apply / Create / Justify - What is required to show a comprehensive depth of understanding for this Achievement Standard?
Once you have pulled out the sey information for each area, from each Standard, you then combine the Achievement Standards (in the grid) to develop an integrated assessment task.
CHECK: Confirm that your learning task(s) cover all of the aspects of both Achievement Standards. Amend the learning task(s) if there is anything missing.
Examples of how this grid can be used to unpack standards and then transformed into an integrated task, with supporting resources, can abe found on this site on the following pages:
