What is a FIDO2 Security Key?
A FIDO2 security key is a portable physical key used by plugging it into a device's USB port or tapping it via NFC (Near Field Communication). It is far more cost-effective than purchasing a new computer or smartphone, providing robust authentication through quick and simple operations.
To log in, simply touch the security key and enter your PIN, or scan your fingerprint. Additionally, because it uses public-key cryptography, your PIN and biometric data are never transmitted externally from the key.
Note: USB ports or NFC functionality may be restricted depending on your security software or device settings. Please consult your system administrator before purchasing a FIDO2 security key.
How to Choose a FIDO2 Security Key
A wide range of models is available featuring different connector shapes (USB-A / USB-C), NFC support, and fingerprint authentication capabilities. Please purchase a FIDO2 security key that matches your usage environment and requirements.
