Updates from Principal Langille
Dear KRHS Family!
Happy October, Fall weather is creeping in! I don’t know about you, but I had a blast with all the homecoming activities! I was exhausted on Sunday afterward, but it was all well worth the fun! It was nice to see some old faces and some new ones; thank you for introducing yourself, saying hi, and even Happy Homecoming when you saw me walking about. I am so humbled that our student clubs and government groups pulled in around $10,000 in donations through their booths…THANK YOU! And many, many thanks to our parent/guardian/family volunteers that stepped up to provide their time, cooking/sales experience, generators, gas, store runs, goodies, and donated supplies; Thank you for the Cougar Love!
We had two exciting events/opportunities enrich our lives this past September. One was a live theatrical musical experience from the New London Barn Playhouse called Jason and the Argonauts. The other experience we had was a workshop for our music students with the trio Take 3 and an evening concert that had our band students join the trio on stage for a closing number that they only got to practice for 1 hour. It was phenomenal! Many thanks to the Summer Music Associates and their collaboration and coordination with Band Director Sean Anderson for bringing this unique opportunity to our students!
In October we have another, not to miss, unique concert opportunity for not only our students, but our full community as well. The Center for the Arts is collaborating with us to bring the band, Dallas Brass here for a day workshop and evening concert on October 19th, at 7:00pm. This show is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:30pm.
We are seeing a quick uptick in Covid cases in the area, and in our schools. I share this to be transparent and also to encourage each of us to take any precautions we feel comfortable doing so, but especially staying home when feeling ill. Masking symptoms with medication is dangerous for everyone here. We will miss you when you are not here and we will be glad we can give you a hug and be close when you return.
Stay in contact whenever you have a question or concern, but also when you want to share some good news. You are respected, loved, and cared for! Go spread the Cougar Love and Support!
Kind regards,
Charles Langille Jr., KRHS Principal

School Breakfast and Lunch
Breakfast and lunch are no longer offered at no cost. Please make sure students have a positive balance in their account prior to purchasing breakfast or lunch. Remember that If a student chooses not to take a fruit or a vegetable as a part of their meal, then that "meal" does not qualify as a full meal under the USDA guidelines that govern the program and is no longer eligible to be served at a reduced rate. In this case, the "meal" becomes a la carte, and any items taken will be charged to the student at a la carte prices. Lunch is available for $3.50, and breakfast for $2.00. Lunch menus and free/reduced-cost applications can be found HERE. Remember, applications that are completed and filed, regardless off help offered, help our school district gain federal funds to offset your tax dollars. Everyone is encouraged to fill out the form.

If you would like your child to be dismissed when they are finished please fill out and sign and return the form attached to the letter. Seniors that do not have a completed Senior Project Proposal, must attend school on PSAT day and meet with their Advisor. All Seniors need to check in with their advisors prior to PSAT day about their plan to complete Senior Project Activities.
