School News and Announcements
Sudents that drive to school must use the same entrance as all parent drop offs. The school bus drop off door will only be open for those arriving by bus. We have had to move the location to the door known as the Auditorium Entrance or Flower Room door due to safety concerns and students who have been arriving regularly tardy to school/class.
Please send in a written note, or email to
hsattendance @kearsarge.org with an explanation for you child's absence. Written/emailed notes must be on file to excuse any absence(s).
It's officially your year of Graduation! Happy 2023! Reminders as the year continues:
Don't forget to keep logging your community service hours, for a minimum of 20 hours. Community Service forms can be picked up in the Guidance Department and returned to either the Main Office or Guidance Office.
Keep up to date with your Senior Project, and reach out to your advisor or Dr. Geraghty if you have any questions.
CHECK YOUR SCHOOL EMAIL - As we near the end of the school year, there will be important information sent to students through their school email about graduation and end of year events.
February 10, 2023: Research Essay Draft - Student should submit a draft of their Research Essay to their advisors through Google Classroom. This is an opportunity to receive feedback on their Research Essay from their advisor in order to best meet the expectations of the Final Draft dur on April 21, 2023.
Tuesday January 24th, twelve Kearsarge students competed in the school-wide Poetry Out Loud competition. Congratulations to our champion, Liliah Bartholomew, as well as our runner-up, Eleanor Baylon. Lilah will be moving on to the semi-final competition which will be held on February 21st at 6:00 PM at New England College.
Internet Safety Workshop Series
Please join us for a conversation about youth and social media literacy! You’re invited to attend one, two, or all three sessions at the KRMS Library Media Center or live-streamed via Zoom. Social Media: A Predator’s Playground

This hour-long presentation by police and representatives from the NH Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task force is geared toward families, educators, and community leaders looking to gain a better understanding of the technology available to the teens and the ways predators can use the internet and social media to exploit them. There will be an opportunity for Q&A after the presentation.
Safe and Healthy Online: Building Protective Factors in Youth

This hour-long presentation and discussion with Crisis Center of Central New Hampshire is geared toward families and educators aiming to understand risks and to develop protective factors to help keep youth safe and healthy online. Topics will include healthy relationships, peer to peer cyberbullying, and fostering open communication. There will be an opportunity for Q&A after the presentation.
Increasing Your Media Literacy

This hour-long interactive presentation by Media Power Youth is geared towards caregivers and educators interested in building media literacy, knowledge and critical-thinking skills to navigate our media-rich world. Participants will learn about the benefits of media while recognizing the influence it can have on aspects of youths’ lives including violence, bullying, substance misuse, and nutrition.

Counseling Department News
On 3/7/23 at 630 PM, the counseling dept is hosting a College Overview for Juniors Program in the Resource Center. Although the focus is on juniors, any grade is welcome to attend.
Math Department News
To complete the first semester, students enrolled in all levels of Precalculus were tasked with constructing bridges made out of popsicle sticks and hot glue. There were 46 students involved in the construction of these bridges. When completed, the crusher (a machine made for this project) was brought in and students were hoping their bridges could withstand 35% its own weight. On the day of breakage, 12 out of the 16 bridges submitted were able to do so! It was a success for the majority and a fun time was had by all. Check out our photos!
KRHS Music News
Save the Date! *March 23, 2023*
The KRHS Music Department is excited to announce that the annual mattress fundraiser is coming up soon.
An entire mattress store will be set up in the gym for the community to come in, try out the beds find the ones they like and have a mattress made to order right at the factory! BRAND NEW. BRAND NAME. MADE TO ORDER IN ANY SIZE. Watch the video for more information on how it works. Even if you don't need a new mattress, you know someone who does! All we need is help spreading the word!
Social Studies News
Sixteen students from Kearsarge attended Harvard Model United Nations as the country of Myanmar. Students were able to participate in committees such as the World Trade Organization, Legal, International Atomic Energy Agency, and World Health Organization just to name a few! Over 4,000 students from around the world attended this conference with the Kearsarge delegation showing continuous maturity and poise.
