Chromebook Trouble Shooting

 My Chromebook will not power on:

• Hold down the power button for at least 15 seconds. Then hit the power button. If your Chromebook has enough battery life, it will power on.

How long should my Chromebook battery last?

• Chromebooks should last at least 8 hours on a fully charged battery.

• When charging, verify that it is charging – a light will come on indicating that it is being charged.

How can I prolong the battery life of my Chromebook?

•  Make sure the device is fully charged prior to coming to school.

• DO NOT use it as a means of charging your phone or streaming music or videos.

• When Chromebook is not in use, close the lid to preserve the battery life

• Do not plug anything in the right side of the Chromebook. It will lock it down.

What if we don’t have Wi-Fi at home?

•    A Chromebook’s use is maximized with Wi-Fi, but it can be used in an offline mode.

•   It will automatically connect to Wi-Fi and upload work upon entering NEHS campus.

Cannot Log In to Clever

2. •  Students are using their user name and not the full email address. For example, I would log in with s1234567 instead of s1234567@kcpublicschools.org 

   • Teachers use their full email address to access Clever

Cannot Log in to Seesaw

• • Make sure that all users are logging in through Clever to access Seesaw

Cannot Log into Google 

4. • Ensure the student is using the correct username and password

   • Next, the user may need to clear the cache to ensure old data is not interfering 

   • If the Chromebook is powered on at a KCPS location it will attach to the network and reset.

Chromebook has a message that it is locked\missing.

• • Bring the device to the building IT tech.
