Hello, Hollymead Families!
The start of school is less than a week away! This week our school instructional staff has returned to begin the preparation work for this coming school year. Classrooms are being set up. Teams are collaborating and planning. It's been a busy and exciting week for everyone as we get ready for the year ahead!
Listed below, and in our calendar section are the important upcoming dates for the start of school next week. There are lots of details, so you'll want to scroll all the way through to access everything!
Saturday, August 9, 10:00-11:00 - PTO Popsicles on the Playground for New Families
All new families PreK-5th grade are welcome to gather on the playground Saturday morning and connect with each other, meet your PTO officers as well as the Hollymead administrative team!
Monday, August 11, 4:00-6:00 - Open House
Pop in between 4:00-6:00 Monday, August 11 to meet your new teacher, pick up school supplies if you ordered from PTO, and see the school! Also, if you will be a car pick-up at the end of the day this year, please be sure to bring your identification and check in with Mrs. King at Open House Monday night! You will be able to pick up your car plaque and directions then!
Wednesday, August 13 - First Day of School!!!
Student arrival begins at 7:40AM each day and the doors will close at 7:55AM. Students are expected to be in classrooms by 7:55AM each day! Students will be considered late at 7:56 AM. Class transitions begin promptly at 8:00 AM. It is essential that all students are in the building and ready to go on time. Student dismissal will be from 2:25-2:45PM daily.

Important Updates
From the Hollymead Health Office
Many of our children at Hollymead require health plans and support for a variety of needs. Linked below are a number of forms that families may need for health care plans and medication administration forms. Forms and any should be filled out by both families and physicians and any necessary medications sent in prior to the start of school!

Morning Drop Off Procedures - EXTRA, EXTRA…. Read ALL About it! Important CHANGES You Need to Know!
To help us move everyone through safely and efficiently, morning drop-off begins at 7:40 AM. Our students need to be in their seats ready to learn before 8:00am! Please follow these important procedures:
Look for teachers directing traffic and pull all the way up!
Once your car stops and the passenger side door is at the yellow curb, your child should exit the vehicle immediately.
If you have child safety locks and need assistance, turn on your hazard lights, a staff member will come open the door.
For safety reasons, do not pass cars in the drop-off lane.
Students should exit on the right-hand (passenger) side only.
If your child cannot exit from the right-hand side or needs more time, please park in the lot and walk them to the crosswalk, where Mrs. King will be stationed to safely stop traffic and escort your child across.
