April 15, 2025
Hello, Hollymead Families,
Welcome to the newest update for the Hollymead Buzz! We will be utilizing this site for our twice monthly communications moving forward. Below you will find details of calendar updates, school and division events and more.
The last quarter of the year is upon us, and it is one of the most exciting times of the year. This is not only because of all the fun year-end things ahead, but truly this is a time when we as educators see the work of the school year come together in such rewarding ways. Our classroom communities are strong and the students show more independence and ownership of their learning. We see our students reaching and exceeding their potential after spending nearly seven months together in these learning partnerships across our school settings. It's truly inspiring to see what's happening in our learning spaces!
We hope to see many of you this week at our "Share Your Voice" event on Thursday night. With this event, we as a school are trying to find ways to connect our growing community. We know that both our newer families and our families who have been here for some time are very interested in connecting, but sometimes don't know how. On Thursday, we will try to help by creating an opportunity for everyone to engage. We will have interactive activities to help forge those connections and will also ask you how we can continue to connect together in a vibrant community partnership. You can RSVP here with this link to our Google form.
Have a wonderful week!

EDEP Registration Information
Albemarle County Public Schools’ Extended Day Enrichment Programs (EDEP) will open registration for the 2025-26 school year this month!
EDEP serves students in kindergarten through fifth grade who are enrolled in an Albemarle County elementary school. Children must be at least 5 years old to attend.
Based on the 2025-26 School Year Calendar, EDEP will offer two programs:
After School Enrichment Program (ASEP):
ASEP will operate each full school day at every elementary school. The program runs from school dismissal until 6 p.m. Families can choose full-time (4-5 days per week) or part-time (1-3 days per week) enrollment. ASEP does not operate on half-days.
Student Holiday Program (SHP):
SHP will operate from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on student holidays when teachers are working. SHP will be hosted at Agnor Elementary School, except on November 4, 2025, when it will be hosted at Greer Elementary School.
Space is limited. Enrollment will depend on staff availability and the space at each school.
To keep the process fair, EDEP will use a random selection (lottery drawing) to offer available spots.
If you would like your child to be included in the lottery, please register during the window for your child’s school:
