National Farmers Union - 3 opportunities
High school seniors, college students or nontraditional students seeking funding to attend a two or four-year accredited college or university or technical school for any area of study. Must be a Farmers Union member.

Book grants will be awarded on the basis of desire to attend college and financial need. Post-secondary schools include trade and vocational schools. If a student is deferring their college admission for a mission trip, service program (e.g. AmeriCorps, Peace Corps), or military service, then their book grant is eligible to be claimed by them for a period of two (2) years following high school graduation.

The applicant must attend a South Dakota Post-Secondary educational facility and have a grade point average of 2.8 or higher (please provide a copy of transcript).
The form must be completely filled out and a 250 to 500 word essay on what rural water has meant to the applicant or his/her community must be attached.
A current photo is also required to be used for publicity purposes. Mid-Dakota reserves the right to print any and all essays that have been submitted.

Must have participated in USA Softball of South Dakota for at least 3 years as a player, coach, umpire, USA Softball of South Dakota official, or in a official capacity of a USA Softball of South Dakota sanctioned team or league.
Applicants must be 19 years of age or younger. You must be a graduating senior from an accredited high school during the year of application. This scholarship may also be granted to a family member of USA Softball of South Dakota member who is physically challenged as determined by the American Disabilities Act passed on July 25, 1990.
