We read a story called "Magnets Work" in our reading book. We learned different things about magnets. We did several experiments to help us learn more about magnets!
We tested several items to see if they were magnetic or not. We recorded our results on a worksheet. We discovered that magnets don't stick to all metals, just those made of iron or steel. We learned that magnets have two poles - a south pole and a north pole. If you try to connect a north pole and north pole or a south pole and south pole they will repel each other. However, if you place a north pole and south pole together, they will attract to each other.
We made magnets dance. We were able to break the magnetic force by adding more and more and more papers to the magnet on our desk until the magnet couldn't hold them up. It held 20 papers but not 30 papers.
