Ceramics 1
During the first semester you will learn a few basic methods of clay construction: pinch, coil and slab. You are to complete 5 projects and an exam for the first semester. If you finish all 5 projects you have the opportunity to re-do a project for an improved grade AND/OR you can create your own Quality Standards and talk to me before beginning. Each project will have a grading sheet that you will completely fill out and conference when appropriate. You must meet all Quality Standards in order to go above and beyond (exceeding standard(s).

A folder must be kept in your cubby and contain the following:
1. Notes from lectures and discussions in class
2. All class handouts (including this sheet)
3. All grading sheets for projects—projects are self-evaluated and YOU keep the records.
4. Any other notebook assignments made during the term
Folders can be collected and reviewed at any time during the semester. This folder and the information it contains is your study guide.
You will have all the information-- you will just have to review for exams. It is your job to manage your folder, cubby and your grading sheets!
You should never lose anything in this class!
