January 26th -30th Ceramics 1: Trimming the rim, smoothing for thinness, adding a foot or feet- handles? Lugs? Decorations? We learned 5. Are you meeting or exceeding the standards for the pinch pot? (these standards are located on your syllabus) Ceramics 2: week 3 Studio Night, Monday- Jan. 26th
January 26th to 30th: Ceramics 1: Mid- Quarter- for ceramics, they are progress grades. B= you met the standards- you have your pinch pot in greenware and you are working on Coil Mug- C= You do not have your pinch pot in greenware. Ceramics 2: Quarter grades are progress grades. Week 4 Final week- New wheel and handbuilders next week- Conferencing
February 2-6th: Ceramics 1: Studio Night Monday Feb 2nd After Wednesday the 4th- All Students are working on Coil Mug Project #2 If you have your mug in greenware you can glaze your pinch pot. Ceramics 2: Week 4-- New wheel and handbuilders next week- Conferencing
Feb 4th- Mid Quarters- remember mid quarter grades are progress grades
February 9th to 12th:- Ceramics 1: We will pause one work day and go over our glazing steps and you learned --2 new terms: Dryfooting and Crawling. Glaze Notes- Tuesday- February 10th-- If you have your coil Mug in greenware you can glaze your pinch pot. Parent Teacher conferencing Monday and Thursday, no school on Friday. No studio night this week Ceramics 2: New groups -Week 1
February 17th to 20th- Ceramics 1: steps for project #3--coil bowl are posted. Remember if your coil mug is not in greenware- make that a priority. Once your coil mug is in greenware you can glaze your pinch pot. The kilns are up and running. Ceramics 2: Week 2
March 2nd- 6th- Ceramics 1: Students should be working on Project #3 Coil Bowl. Step by step instructions are on the white board. Ceramics 2: week 3--
March 9th- 12th-- Ceramics 1: Coil Bowl - Step-by-step directions that are on the whiteboard in the classroom are also in your Google Classroom stream. A few are onto Concave/ Convex Ceramics 2: Week 1-- New Wheel groups and new projects for handbuilders.

March 16th -20th-- Ceramics 1: Coil Bowl should be in greenware but as always the earlier the better! Many have started this project during Q3 Ceramics 2: Week 2
March 23rd to 27th- Ceramics 1: Students are working on Concave/Convex, constructing with coils, paddling, smoothing, shaping and drying. if you are behind come on in and join us for studio night!!! Ceramics 2: Week 3 for groups
March 30th -April 3rd- Ceramics 1: A few are working on their slab lidded box. Ceramics 2 - Week 4- final week for groups
April - Finishing up the Concave/Convex this week-- some are working on the slab lidded box. Ceramics 2 Week 1 for the last group
April- Ceramics 1: working on Slab Lidded Box- learning how to use the slab roller Ceramics 2: Week 3 for our last group.
April: Ceramics 1: Finishing up- slab lidded box or Extra Credit Ceramics 2: Week 4-- final week
May -- Last day for clay is May th. Glazing Ceramics 2 Glazing and preparing for test. Glazing frenzy
