Accommodations vs. Modifications

Tier 1 Support

Tier 1 is where we implement instructional practices that are proactive and preventative. These strategies for ALL students. Implementing these strategies solves many of the challenges we are faced with. The majority of our students are served in Tier 1.

Great Strategies to Implement in Tier 1:
- Clear Expectations and Learning Objectives
- Use of Multilevel Instruction
- Small Group / Differentiated Instruction
- Provide Appropriate Accommodations for all Students

Tier 1 Strategies and Accommodations are so POWERFUL! Accommodations give students access to the general curriculum and allow them to spend more time within the general education classroom.
