HĀ Assessment Tools - Ka Muliwai

A muliwai is described as a river mouth, the section of a river that opens up to the ocean. It is in this area that the water flows in a slow and deep current. This is also where the rich nutrients of the wai are shared out to the kai.

As we begin to define what HĀ looks like for our unique communities, we are able to better articulate the impact certain learning environments have on aʻo. It is through this articulation that we begin to design in ways that affect lasting change and see the greater impact that our work might have. This level of HĀ reflection is beneficial for communities that are familiar with HĀ as a whole, as well as those who are interested in informing school/community wide reflection that informs shifts for a collective strengthening of BREATH.
