You will find a compilation of resources here that help to increase awareness of and value for ʻike ʻohana, ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi, and ʻike Hawaiʻi that establishes Hawaiʻi as our ʻāina kilohana. This is an opportunity to continue strengthening HĀ by returning education to nohona Hawaiʻi that empower ʻohana (families) to be part of the holistic learning process.

ʻIke ʻOhana

Ka ʻike a ka makua he hei na ke keiki.

ʻOhana is the core/foundation of a keikiʻs learning. ʻOhana, parents and caregivers, as first teachers, have familial gifts and stories that are preserved through intergenerational exchange. OHE resources shared here are intended to empower and activate ʻohana to share their personal stories, practices, and traditions continue legacies.

ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi

E ola mau ka ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi.

The Hawaiian language shall live.

Through ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi, we preserve the histories, values, and culture of our unique island home, Hawaiʻi. OHE resources shared here provide access to ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi materials that support use of and normalization of ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi in various ways.

Hawaiʻi is the foundation of our education.

Hawaiʻi, our unique island home, is both a teacher and resource for context and content for learning. OHE resources shared here support learning connected to Hawaiian knowledge -- places, practices, protocols, stories, etc.
