Brag Sheet 101
What is a Brag Sheet:
A brag sheet is more than just a list of your achievements—it's your personal record of accomplishments, activities, and skills that you've built up over time. Whether you're preparing for college applications, job interviews, or just staying organized, a brag sheet helps you keep track of all your important milestones.
Why is it useful?
Easy tracking of achievements: By consistently updating your brag sheet, you'll always have a record of everything you've done. This can include awards, volunteer work, leadership roles, or extracurricular activities.
Turning it into a resume: A brag sheet is the perfect foundation for your resume. With all your accomplishments in one place, converting them into a polished resume will be a breeze.
Helps with college and job applications: When it's time to fill out college applications, you won't have to scramble to remember everything. Your brag sheet will have it all ready for you to input.
Great for letters of recommendation: Giving your brag sheet to teachers or counselors when asking for a letter of recommendation will help them highlight your strengths and provide more detailed examples of your achievements.
Pro Tip: Update Regularly!
Be sure to update your brag sheet at least once a semester. Every club meeting you lead, volunteer hour you serve, or award you earn should make its way onto the list. By the time you need it, your brag sheet will be a comprehensive, ready-to-use tool for your future success.
