Dual credit Program
The DUAL CREDIT PROGRAM is a unique partnership between the State of Hawai'i Department of Education and the University of Hawai'i system. It allows public high school students to attend college classes while earning both high school and college credits.
What is DUAL CREDIT?
Dual Credit is a program that allows eligible* high school students to enroll in college classes to earn credit towards high school graduation and a college degree.
Under the Kalani High School dual credit umbrella students have the opportunity to participate in 3 different programs:
EARLY COLLEGE- Students take college class(es) at Kalani High School, taught by Kapi'olani Community College Professors. Kalani High School will subsidize the cost of tuition. Students must pay for textbook, fees.
RUNNING START- Students take college class(es) at Kapi'olani Community College (KCC), taught by KCC professors. Students are responsible to pay full tuition, textbook, fees, transportation, etc.
NEW SY2023-24 - UH@Manoa Outreach College Early College Scholars - Students take restricted University of Hawai'i @ Manoa Outreach College class(es) at UHM or Kalani High School, taught by UHM professors. Kalani High School will subsidize the cost of tuition. Students must pay for textbook, fees.
