MTSS-R

BKM complex area is piloting a MTSS-R project with the support of Carol Dissen and the National Center on Improving Literacy. Waihee, Makawao, and Pukalani Elementary Schools are participating in the pilot program.

MTSS-R includes analysis of both reading instruction and intervention. A school-based team that includes administration, teachers, interventionalists, and community members are participating in professional development and coaching focused on multi-tiered systems of support for reading. Schools will evaluate their current systems of reading instruction and will use data to prioritize areas to focus on for instruction and intervention. Schools will make a plan and implement instructional improvements to their tiered reading instruction.
