🌍SDGs Make Our World Better! 🌏
Activity Overview
In June, Zhongxiao Elementary School organized an English learning activity inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The project, titled “Make Our World Better!”, encouraged students to think about environmental and social issues in their daily lives while practicing their English communication skills.
How the Activity worked
Before creating their videos, students were introduced to key SDG topics such as saving water and electricity, recycling and reducing waste, protecting animals and nature, and helping people in their communities. They explored how global challenges can be addressed through simple local actions. Students then created short 30–60 second English videos, working individually or with classmates and family members. In their videos, they explained a local problem, showed how they could help solve it, and shared why their actions are important for the community and the environment. The activity helped students build confidence in speaking English in a meaningful and real-world context while also strengthening their creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking skills. It also encouraged them to understand that even small daily actions can contribute to a more sustainable future.
Rewards
Outstanding videos were selected and rewarded with FamilyMart vouchers in recognition of students’ effort, creativity, and commitment to positive change.
Overall, the activity successfully combined English learning with environmental awareness and global citizenship, inspiring students to become responsible and active contributors to a better world.
