🌲🎁Christmas Rock 'n Bells Activity 🧑🎄🎄
Activity Overview
In December, Jhong Siao Elementary School held a joyful Christmas English Celebration themed Rock n' Bells that combined performances, cultural sharing, and interactive English learning activities. Students practiced English through music, movement, games, and holiday-themed challenges in a fun and festive atmosphere.
Morning Assembly Christmas Program
Our foreign English teacher from Eswatini shared how Christmas is celebrated in Eswatini, introducing students to cultural traditions and showing how Christmas is enjoyed in different parts of the world.
Grade 3 students performed a dance to the song “Jingle Bells,” creating an exciting and cheerful start to the day.
The assembly continued with a lovely Christmas song also accompanied by Rock ’n’ Roll Christmas song performance by the English teachers adding energy and excitement to the celebration and the students really enjoyed the performance.
Christmas English Learning Activities
Before starting the activities, students learned Christmas-related vocabulary, such as reindeer, candy cane, Christmas tree, snowman and Santa clause. This helped prepare them for the English challenges that followed. The vocabulary lesson allowed students to become familiar with key holiday words and boosted their confidence before participating in the activities.
Students participated in a Hula Hoop Challenge, combining physical movement with English speaking practice.
Students had to spin the hula hoop for 5–10 seconds.
Grades 1–3: Students randomly picked a vocabulary word from a bag and pronounced the word.
Grades 4–6: Students picked a word and made a short sentence using it.
After completing the challenge, students moved on to the next activity.
The final activity was a Christmas Puzzle Challenge featuring holiday pictures such as Santa Claus, Candy Cane and Snowman.
Grades 1–3: Completed a 3 × 3 puzzle
Grades 4–6: Completed a 6 × 6 puzzle
Students worked together to solve the puzzles and say the picture name in English.
