I received an authorized (approved) CTE prior approval, now what?
You should go ahead and make lodging reservations and register for the event. If air travel is involved, reach out to Monica to book flight through our travel agent. If you wish to have your registration and/or lodging prepaid, email Monica copies of your invoices so she can key a purchase order and have a check sent. Please note, the finance office cuts checks on specific dates so be sure to submit Prior Approvals well in advance and follow-up quickly with invoices if you hope to have have a check sent. You may choose to pay out-of-pocket and include on a CTE Travel Reimbursement Request form after the event.
I haven't received notification that my CTE Prior Approval was approved, what should I do?
If a reasonable amount of time has passed (longer than 7 business days), then login to Droplet and click on "My Submissions." If your submission is still awaiting the approval of your school administration, follow up with the person listed to remind them to please review your CTE Prior Approval. If it is awaiting approval of the CTE office email MonicaConnor@johnston.k12.nc.us.
How do I find out if CTE will pay for me to attend an event?
Review the relevant funding information and then submit a CTE Prior Approval Form with all potential expenses indicated.
What does CTE pay for regional/state/national CTSO events?
CTSO expenses that are eligible for funding by CTE Central Services can be found on this page in the CTE Resource Hub.
What if I request reimbursement or funding for something that was not included on the CTE Prior Approval Form?
CTE cannot reimburse or pay expenses that were not included on the CTE Prior Approval Form, including but not limited to, paying the substitute daily rate (frequently forgotten), parking fees, or baggage fees.
What can I spend my supply money on?
Supplies are relatively inexpensive (generally less than $50 per item) and expendable; that is, if the article is damaged or some of its parts are lost or worn out, it is usually more feasible to replace it with an entirely new unit, rather than repair it. For specific examples and to learn more visit the Consumable Supplies section under Instructional Resources.
Where can I find my supply allotment?
Supply allotments can be found on this page in the CTE Resource Hub. You can click on the shaded arrow box in the top right corner of the embedded file to open in a new tap or you can also access via the CTE Resource Hub Shared Drive in your Google Drive.
Can I give all or a portion of my consumable allotment to another teacher?
No, supply allotments are for individual teachers. If you do not need to purchase supplies this year, then simply refrain from submitting a PO Requisition Form. If another teacher has needs that exceed their allotment, then they should prioritize their requests and consider submitting additional requests via the CTE Request Form.
It is appropriate for two teachers within the same program area to collaborate on a PO Requisition Form that will be deducted equally from the individual teacher's supply allotments. This is especially appropriate when the teachers teach within the same pathway, share storage or instructional space, and/or are purchasing CTSO supplies.
