If a course is deemed inherently honors by NCDPI, then there is no need to have a CTE-approved honors curriculum guide in place.
If a school chooses to offer honors option CTE courses (those not deemed inherently honors by NCDPI), then they will still need to offer it at the standard level as well. It is acceptable to make whole honors level sections, but that means there should be standard-level sections and/or students within the honors level section are able to opt-out of honors work and credit. Additionally, course registration materials must include the standard level option for students to select.
