Industry Field Trips are same-day events that take a group of students off the school campus to experience careers and industries aligned to their classroom instruction. They should align to state standards and include instructional activities that promote reflection and document learning. This also includes travel associated with students taking credential exams at approved exam or testing centers.
NOTE: Due to the shortened Fall semester, staff are discouraged from planning field trips that remove students from school beyond their scheduled CTE block. Exceptions may be possible for credential exam/testing field trips.
Substitute expenses for CTE Teacher and chaperones
Activity bus as approved on the CTE Prior Approval Form. Trips should be reasonable and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
The school treasurer or athletic director should provide an invoice to Monica Connor within 30 days of the event.
It is the school's responsibility to ensure we are invoiced in a timely manner. CTE central services reserves the right to deny paying activity bus invoices if they are not received in a timely manner.
NOTE: All funding is contingent upon the availability of CTE funds, review and approval by CTE central services, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws and policies.
We encourage you to invite parents, community partners, student services staff, and CTE support services staff (CDC, CAC, CTE Student Support Specialists) to serve as chaperones. This helps to reduce the cost for substitutes and prevents straining the school's pool of substitutes.
1:15 for same-day events (example: 16 students attending, CTE will fund 2 adults)
