Golden Ratio

From the ancient Greeks to Leonardo Davinci and onto contemporary painters like Picasso and Salvador Dalí, many artists throughout the ages have based their compositions on the Golden Ratio, a system of proportion believed to be ideal to the human eye. Masterpiece Fibonacci Golden Rectangle Canvas is designed to help artists create more interesting, powerful compositions by reflecting this harmonic balance. All sizes are based on the "Divine Proportion" (also known as Phi, or 1.6180399:1), giving you a time-proven proportion on which to begin your next master work. Though composition can be a challenge, it's one of the most important aspects of painting. It can draw the viewer's attention or divert it away. When you begin with a Masterpiece Fibonacci Golden Rectangle Canvas, and apply the Golden Ratio to the subjects you're depicting, successful composition is simply much easier to achieve.

Materials

Paintings are created on aluminum, handcrafted wood panels linen, and canvas. We utilize 100% cotton canvas with a 7 oz raw weight is triple-primed with acrylic gesso, yielding an archival, acid-free, leach-resistant surface with a 10.5 oz finished weight. It's ideal for both oil and acrylic painting. The canvas is stretched on 7/8" profile, utilizing Magnus Frame stretcher bars that provide superior support. Clean, staple-free edges are perfect for an elegant, frameless display.
