The concept begins with an image i.e, a face sketched and created digitally and then engraved on a wood panel utilizing a Laser engraving or cutting machine. Then the fun begins by creating layers of different types of paint or mediums: Using Oils, Acrylics, Charcoal, and combined energy these two artists create a worldly image that comes alive in layers of poured and brushed media.

Using brushes and scraping tools, the artist builds up and deconstructs, mixing graphite, paint, and charcoal to create textural nuance. Layered beneath vestiges of imagery lie below the surface, like the shadows of memory. A palette of warm reds in contrast to cool blues and warm earth tones creates a sense of harmony and connection to the exterior world. Ships in: Custom Carton

The JohnsonWildman JWLASERArt™, a groundbreaking 3-D engraved technology, redefines the limits of creating, recreating every detail of an image with total fidelity. Through using computer aided design, it's entirely possible to create intricate detail and the nuances of line and halftone as elements are burned into the surface. The result is a textured relief\intaglio surface. Laser engraving is a process that vaporizes materials or burns areas away to engrave permanent, deep marks. The laser beam acts as a chisel, incising marks by removing layers from the surface of the material. The laser hits localized areas with massive levels of energy to generate the high heat required for vaporization. Depending on the exposure time, the color changes and creates a contrast, or the material evaporates or burns. The resulting laser engraving leaves raised portions that are in fact engraved in relief. Colors can be rubbed, brushed, or pressed on the raised parts or enhanced with color in the low intaglio areas.
