The Heart of February
By: Haylee Ahysen and Molly Richardson
So many fun events occurred this month. Between basketball games, Sweetheart Week, and the musical, our Patriots have been busy. Sports teams are putting in hard work and dedication to reach the top. It's our job to show up, support, and cheer them on, and fill the student section. We even celebrated each team's season and accomplishments at our annual Fall Sports Banquet this month. The John Curtis Drama Department put on the production of High School Musical Jr., and the students excitedly got to watch it during school. A big part of February is the Sweetheart Court, Week, and Dance. Students went all out in their costumes for the week and then got to get fancy for the dance on Saturday night. The students and faculty have also been lucky enough to hear from not one but two NFL players this month. D'Marco Jackson from the New Orleans Saints and Alec Ingold from the Miami Dolphins spoke at an assembly and shared heartfelt stories about their lives. We loved hearing from them and are thankful they could share personal advice with us. Winter is ending, and the temperature is rising for spring. Keep up the good work because there are only three more months left of school.
