JCCS just got a whole lot more dramatic! Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez took center stage. the students worked hard on a production that was full of singing, dancing, and fun memories made along the way! From learning lines to choreographing routines, everyone pitched in to make this play special. just like in 'High School Musical,' these students expressed their own unique talents. take a look below to see a behind the scenes look at the East High stage and how our Drama Club took on their roles as our favorite High School Musical characters.
Brandon Faciane
As Troy Bolten
Why did you join the play?
I joined the play because I love to act and sing. I really enjoyed the last play. it would be the last year I get to perform for high school, and with all the amazing people that decided to join.
What was your favorite part about being in the play?
My favorite part about being in the play was the rehearsals. It was so fun to work with the people who did the play. We would have fun, but also get our work done to put on a fun show. The times backstage, we would mess around and enjoy something that we all love to do.
What influenced you to audition for your role?
My reason to audition for Troy was that I had seen High School musical before and thought it would be fun to try and get the lead role again like I did 2 years ago. This year is also my last, so why not try and go all out.

Riley Conlay

Why did you join the play?
I joined the musical because it’s always been something I enjoyed doing since I was little.
What was your favorite part about being in the play?
My favorite part was being able to play a sassy character because you could make up anything on the spot, and I really enjoyed messing with my co-stars.
What influenced you to audition for your role?
I auditioned for my role because Sharpay has always been a character I looked up to as a kid even though she was a bratty character, she just wants to be seen and I was very happy that I could be her and understand why she was the way she was.
Kate Curtis
