Just like that, our week in Bali is complete. It was a fantastic ESP experience for our students with beautiful weather, lots of adventure and plenty of time with friends, old and new. After breakfast and room checks, Red, Orange and Yellow headed to the airport for the first flight. Green, Blue and Purple had a little extra time at the hotel to play same games with Odyssey before making their own way to the airport. Students and teachers are looking forward to getting back home to see their families and sleep in late tomorrow. Until next time…
The hallways were quiet early last night and there were definitely some students who were moving a little slower this morning as they came down for breakfast. But everyone rallied and headed off for one last day of adventures. It was finally time for Red and Orange to get their chance to play in the mud at Mepantigan and enjoy some tasty Chocolate at Bali Gold, while Yellow and Green headed for the river, and Blue and Purple made their way to Baliwoso. They came back tired and ready to shower this afternoon, but also, somehow, full of positive energy.
After one last dinner in the hotel restaurant, we all gathered for a final full group activity in the wantilan. The Odyssey staff surprised our group by transforming the space with special decorations and lights for our evening learning about Kecak. There is something pretty magical about seeing so this wonderful group of students practicing and performing a dance.
After dancing, it was time to head up to the rooms for one last night with their friends. We will see you all tomorrow!
It's day two of our week-long adventure, and spirits are still high. Today, Red and Orange made their way to the river for rafting. Yellow and Green spent their time at Baliwoso, and Blue and Purple made chocolate and played in the mud at Mepantigan.
This evening was our social in the wantilan, which was moved to the middle of the week to make room for a different special event on Thursday night. Students enjoyed hanging out with their friends and listening to some music. For those who preferred a quieter evening, they had the option to spend some time by the pool playing cards or board games, reading, or taking a swim.
Students were up and at it early this morning ready for an exciting day. Red and Orange headed to Baliwoso for bamboo adventures. Yellow and Green were off to learn about chocolate and have some fun at Mepantigan, while Blue and Purple made their way to the Ayung River for rafting. The clouds rolled in for a bit, but the rain held off and we had a great day.
After dinner, the air was filled with laughter and conversation as students enjoyed sports on the beach, playing in the pool, or relaxing and watching a movie in the wantilan. Everyone was excited to share stories from their day and find out what their friends in other groups had done. They shared tips with each other for tomorrow before heading to bed to get some rest.
There was a lot of tired excitement as students arrived at school this morning to head out on their week filled with adventure. Our groups successfully navigated through the airports and arrived at the hotel, excited and ready for action. Red, Orange, and Yellow were the early arrivers and had some fun playing group games and learning to make canang sari. Once Green, Blue, and Purple arrived, it was time for the excitement of getting their roommates and checking into their rooms. After dinner, everyone gathered to make their team flags in their small bus groups before finally calling it a day and heading to their rooms. The students were tired at the end of a long day, but looking forward to the real adventure that begins tomorrow.
Everyone is on their way home and so excited to see their families.
