In this lab you will estimate the osmolarity of potato tissue by immersing potato cores in media solutions at different concentrations. You will record the mass before and after exposing the potato cores to the media for about 48h. Then you will calculate the percent change in mass of each potato core and plot a graph to estimate the osmolarity of the potato core according to your own experimental data. Finally, you will use the class data to make a second estimation of the osmolarity of potato tissue. Results from both estimations will be then discussed and a set of questions will be answered individually to evaluate the results obtained.
