　We have entered an era in which we cannot rely on precedents or rules of thumb. The future is uncertain and discontinuous, but every moment we are proceeding toward that uncertainty. Even the current pandemic that we are facing presents no easy exit plan. How can we cope with a virus that continues to mutate, forcing uncomfortable changes in our daily life? An easy solution is beyond our reach.　The impact of climate change is also becoming more and more serious. Increasingly severe natural disasters, such as floods and wildfires, are becoming an issue that is very close to everyone's heart, and experts are pointing out that we have less than ten years to find a solution.

　It is becoming more and more difficult to turn away from the suffering in the world even though we enjoy peace in our everyday life. Especially for those who will be leading the way in the future—the children—there are many unavoidable challenges that remain, and we are entrusting them with the task of trying to solve them.

　It is not an easy task to run a direct route toward a future full of uncertainties. In order to create our individual path through a terrain full of great challenges, we need deep wisdom, enduring strength, and a spirit of challenge. However, when we look back at the history of humanity, we have been able to use these tools to reshape our collective destiny before, despite the many difficulties we faced. I am sure that you will accomplish the same.

　With the continuous development of science and technology, we are realizing that feats that used to be considered impossible are quickly becoming possible. Furthermore, we can now share information with anyone in the world and combine our wisdom and power. The possibility of creating a new future is available to all. That is why I urge you to hone your wisdom, acquire skills, and build mental fortiude during your junior and senior high school years. Listen to the people in your life with sincerity, deepen your thinking, and build yourself up to be able to create the future.

　We at Senzoku Gakuen will do our best to nurture students who can continue to shine in the future while promoting meaningful learning without turning away from the difficult side of reality.

LEARN FROM EVERYTHING

　It is the mission of our school to provide students who are ready to take off into the future with the necessary skills to do so. From now on, it is not enough to pursue existing values and existing evaluations.

　At Senzoku Gakuen, we strive to provide students with essential and unbiased academic skills and a variety of independent abilities so that they can constantly change themselves according to their needs. One of our unique curriculums is the compulsory mathematics course for all students until the third year of high school. In the future, it will be essential for all students to have the ability to understand the world logically and scientifically, to handle data, and to be able to explain their thoughts. From the perspective of acquiring the basic academic skills for this purpose, it is now essential for students to learn advanced mathematics.

　On the other hand, comprehensive studies focusing on philosophical dialogues to confront unanswerable questions and communicate one's thoughts to others, music and other art subjects where each student is expected to learn one instrument, high-level self-governing activities as seen in the management of events by students, and various seminars also motivate students to learn and cultivate practical skills. These courses also help them to think from multiple perspectives and acquire the flexibility to respond as needed.

EMBRACE YOUR COMMUNITY

　One of the major meanings of gathering together is to learn about the values of others. Of course, there are many things that do not go as planned. We experience failures and setbacks. However, that is the real appeal of learning in a school. I hope that all students will cherish the friends they make in this school. "Embracing" means recognizing the values of others and spending time with them while maintaining a heart of compassion.

　Senzoku Gakuen is a learning environment filled with light. In this environment, students deepen their learning and contemplation. They will challenge themselves in various ways, meet friends, and experience happiness, frustration, success, and failure together with their peers in this place. It will be an important six years that they will never forget.

THINK FOR YOURSELF

　When I look at the students, I feel that they want to contribute to society, and that they are willing to create something new, rather than relying on existing values. In fact, some of our graduates have started their own businesses. They have the strength to create their own opportunities and are even beginning to create new value in the corporate world. The era of women creating new value is expanding greatly. In addition, this is an era in which we will be able to communicate and collaborate with the world. In this era, the question we need to ask each other is "What do you think?” Students at Senzoku Gakuen learn to think for themselves and to communicate their ideas to others.

SOAR

　Above all, we want our students to create their own path based on their dreams and hopes, with a sense of happiness.

　The happiness and that each student gains from self-realization is the primary aim of all teachers at our school.

　How can we achieve this aim?

　When I ask graduates who visit our school why they chose their career or occupation, many of them tell me that they wanted to do a job that would be useful to others or that would allow them to share their joy with the people around them. I believe this is the secret to living a life of happiness—to be able to use one's abilities to achieve happiness for all.

　Every experience at Senzoku Gakuen is a learning experience. I hope that our students, who will play a leading role in creating the society of the future, will deepen their learning, meet many friends, and will spread their wings to soar.
