Week of May 18-22

Language Arts: 

• Learning Targets -  Students will finsh their guided practice gum chewing Argumentative Essay  and begin their final essay.  

Assignments: Classwork. 

Bible: 

Learning Targets:  We will continue our last unit on the time between the testaments, and how the Hebrew people were able to survive and continue their religion during the Persian conquest and Hellenization.

 Assessments: 7A Bible Memory Tues. May 19 (Psalm 106: 44-48)

Science:

Learning Targets: 

This week we will learn about bridges and engineering. Students will be in groups, learning and becoming a master at a particular style of Bridge. Students will research various examples and characteristics of thies Bridge before presenting to the class. Students will then physically create a bridge at the end of the week with toothpicks and marshmallows.

Social Studies: We will continue our unit on the High Middle Ages by discussing the 100 Years War, and how its implications led to the weakening of the feudal system and the strengthening of royal power.  We will also discuss medieval universities, and students will create their own medieval universities.

Math: In the upcoming week students will begin their final unit on geometric figures and volume. We will learn how to find volume of cylinders, cones, and pyrmiads.
