The Aero Club of Louisville was founded in 1922 by pilots returning from World War I as a place to continure thier passion foy flying after the war. As the Aero Club celebrates its 100th birthday, we would like to announce the scholarship application opening for the 2023-2024 school year.

High School seniors who wish to pursue a career in aviation

What is the relationship between Equality and Justice?
To truly explore this question in an essay that is between 500 -800 words, you’ll need to go beyond "dictionary definitions," and express your understanding and reasoning about the connection between these two principles. This reasoning involves a combination of observation, experience, and some pretty "big ideas." What does it take to understand them? To build toward and maintain them? To see them with regard to each other? Why is this relationship important?
Their Goal is to help students become knowledgeable participating members of society equipped with education and the necessary skills to meet tomorrow‘s challenges.

The scholarship is designed to identify and reward outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated an ability to excel in the fields of academics, extra-curricular school activities, and community involvement. The scholarship is available to any male, graduating senior from an accredited high school who is enrolling in a four-year undergraduate college program that commences in the fall. The scholarship is awarded through the Foundation for Fraternal Excellence, a registered 501(c)3 organization. Current or future membership in a fraternity is not required.

The AACTE Holmes Scholars Program supports students from historically underrepresented communities enrolled in doctoral programs in education. CEHD and The Nystrand Center of Excellence in Education will support two additional Holmes Scholars for the 2022-2023 school year.

Applications should include evidence of the applicant’s academic achievement in high school, leadership skills or community service in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics and the applicant’s commitment to pursue a career in a STEM field.
To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicant must have a minimum 3.5 unweighted grade point average and have been accepted as a full-time student at a fouryear institution of higher education. Applicants will have to submit a list of STEM courses taken, two one-page essays, a high school transcript and have two people complete a short recommendation form. Applicants do not have to be a United States citizen.

Candidate Eligibility Criteria
Candidate must intend to continue his/her education.
Candidate must be a 2023 graduating high school student who has submitted an application to continue his/her education.
The candidate must have a high school diplona.
The candidate shall be enrolled or expect to be enrolled as a full-time student in a post-secondary institution of higher education.
Candidate must have a 2.8 GPA at the time of application.
Candidate shall be responsible for the completion and return of all required support materials.

To be eligible, applicant must meet all the following requirements:
▪ Have a valid high school diploma, a GED diploma, or be graduating high school senior with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale.
▪ Be a child of a Jefferson County Farm Bureau member who has been a member for at least one year prior to the submission of this application and who remains a member while the scholarship is in effect.
▪ Finish high school within the spring semester of the year application is made for the scholarship. ▪ Family members of the Jefferson County Farm Bureau Scholarship Committee are not eligible.
Award: $2,000 per semester, with a cap of $16,000

LMHA Scholarship
To participate, students must live in a public housing development or receive Section 8 assistance from the Louisville Metro Housing Authority. Scholarships are awarded* based upon a student's GPA (grade point average), financial need, other financial aid, written essay response and an interview process. College students must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA and must be enrolled as a full-time student.

The Hortense B. Perry Foundation
The purpose of the foundation is to provide support in the execution of educational and social programs impacting the community of Louisville Metro, Jefferson County, Kentucky.
The Hortense B. Perry Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization in partnership with the Eta Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated®. Established in 1994, the foundation has provided thousands of dollars in support of our priorities with special emphasis on providing educational funds to high school students in the Louisville area. The scholarship investment ranges from $30,000 to $60,000 annually.
