College Credit: Wildlife Pathway

Scholars in the Wildlife Pathway can hear up to 6 college credit hours through our partnership with Murray State University.

Scholars may be eligible for a scholarship covering the costs of some or all of these credits.

These hours can be transferred to other universities beyond Murray.

Facilities to Support Active Learning:

Scholars who choose the Wildlife Pathway have class in a variety of places, sometimes in the classroom/lab hybrid, sometimes in the Seneca Ag Aquatics Lab, sometimes on the Seneca High School grounds working in the Living Tree Library or the local creek. Like all the pathways, their experience is hands-on.

While in Aquaculture class, scholars have their own aquarium in the Seneca Ag Aquatics Lab. There students learn about water quality, habitat requirements, productions of aquatic animals and plants, and the nitrogen cycle. (See videos of our aquariums below!)

Seneca's Living Tree Library has been around for many years and features about 30 trees. Scholars care for the trees, utilize them for identification of local species, and help with pest management, as well as harvesting of tree products.

Seneca High School also has access to South Fork Beargrass Creek. Testing the water, analyzing biodiversity, micro-organisms, and the healthiness of the creek is a fundamental staple of the pathway.
