PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear Brown School Family,

Tomorrow is our Thanksgiving Lunch. All adult family members must bring in their driver's license or state-issued photo ID in order to be admitted into the school building. If a family member is attending without a guardian present, we need you to send a note with that person granting permission for them to eat lunch with your child. Please plan to arrive 20 minutes before your child's scheduled lunch time so that we can get you checked in. Please see more details below about the lunch in the PTSA section.

Love,

Dr. Angela

QUICK LINKS

THIS WEEK'S ESSENTIALS

SAFETY Concern

Our neighboring businesses on 2nd Street have contacted us again. They ask that parents not use the parking lots, or allow children to walk in their parking lots. There have been instances where a child walked directly in the path of someone parking in their parking lot. Please drive your car down the alley, drop off out front, or have your student stay on the sidewalk rather than walking through parking lots.

Technology Reminder

We have seen a recent increase of students not bringing their school issued Chromebook to school and/or coming to school with their Chromebook not being charged. We only have 15 extra devices and chargers that we use school-wide as day loaners. Those are constantly getting maxed out. If students need to use a day loaner, they should never take that device home. They need to return it to the library before the end of the school day.

Families, please try to remind your kids (grades 3-12) that they need to charge their Chromebooks every night and bring them to school every day. If you have any technology related questions or if a device/charger is not working properly, please contact Drew Paige. (andrew.paige@jefferson.kyschools.us)

Lost and Found

Brown School Families,

Please have your child check the Lost and Found located in the first floor stairwell across from the front office. Any remaining items after Tuesday, November 21st will be donated to the community over Thanksgiving Break.

FAFSA INFO FOR CURRENT SENIORS.  **********************

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opens 12/1. We encourage students to complete it in December or January, but heads up....it's changed a lot this year, so don't fret if it doesn't work on 12/1. You will be okay to wait a few weeks and let any possible glitches get fixed.

Although there is no official due date, we encourage all students to complete it in December or January to give colleges time to assemble their financial aid documents so that the students have time to compare offers before making a decision.
