• JCTC will do academic advising at Brown on 4/11. See the assignment in Google Classroom Class of 2025, 2026, or 2027 for more information and to request an appointment. Everyone has to complete advising to be a dual credit student!

Mark your calendars! Our next Coffee with the Counselor will be April 23 from 8:15-10am. We will be discussing the important topic of Cyber Safety.

Testing season is almost upon us, and with that a lot of anxiety tends to rise in students.  JCPS has teamed up with Care Solace to provide referrals for JCPS students to find mental health service providers. This program allows us to make specific requests for student services based on preference and need (provider fees may vary). Many mental health service providers can also meet during the school day, although they must have a contract with JCPS to do so (please ask your provider if this interests you). So if you are interested in any services, please feel free to reach out, and we will be happy to put in a referral for you!

I would also like to remind students that they are welcome to request time in our quiet space in the Student Support Center. All they need to do is ask their teacher, and they will be able to use the space for up to 15 minutes before needing to speak with a Support Team member.

• JCTC will do academic advising at Brown 4/11. Students that completed the steps were emailed an appointment confirmation this past Monday from Robin. It is unlikely we will add any additional students after tomorrow's advising session.

• All dual credit students have to complete advising with their chosen institution to be a dual credit student!

We are in GREAT need of parent volunteers to help with testing in May.  We will administer both the AP and KSA end of year accountabioity test May 6th-May17 and we can not do it successfully without volunteers.  If you are available any of those days to help please email cordia.pickerill@jefferson.kyschools.us as soon as possible!  

Welcome back, everyone!  In just about two months we will be closing up the 23/24 school year.  I can't believe it.  Here are a few things we are working on in the middle lands:)

• We will work on scheduling our current 8th graders who will return to Brown next year for high school this Friday in Erin's classes. Any questions you have will be answered then.

• Our next Coffee with the Counselor will be Tuesday, April 23rd from 8"15-10.  The topic will be cyber safety.  Thanks to all who participated in our chat yesterday!

• The Gifted and Talented Screener for Science and Social Studies will be given next week to select students.  A letter was given to students who qualified to take home and I will notify all students of when they will test.  6th grade will test next Monday, the 15th, 7th graders will test Tuesday, April 16th, and 9th grade will test Wednesday, April 17th.  

• 8th grade teachers and I are working on plans for promotion ceremony.  We will be in touch soon with updates.

Finally, I could still use more parent volunteers to support end of the year assessments.  If you have any availability May 6th-May 17th and can dedicate 3 hours of your time, please email me directly.  Thank you!!

The Louisville Free Public Library is offering free ACT Prep kits at all branches, while supplies last. 

Looking for summer enrichment in reading? JCPS is offering literacy camps.  Registration ends April 12th.
