You might be wondering, why Just One more? How does one more fruit or vegetable impact a person's overall health? One more fruit or vegetable can't make a positive difference can it? Well, eating one more vegetable a day is very beneficial to a student's health. Every student should aim for 5 or more vegetables a day because just one more vegetable a day can reduce the chance of chronic disease. Chronic diseases are very prevalent in our society and they can be prevented through consuming the right diet. Instead of replacing other parts of our diet, we encourage adding vegetables to make healthier, nutrient rich, and balanced meals. Eating just one more fruit or vegetable per day (whether its frozen, canned, or fresh) can and will make a difference in student overall health and well being. If we improve students overall health than students will preform better and most importantly feel better. We decided to make our campaign name to eat Just One More because we know the positive difference we can make for students and families throughout the Jeffco community.

Day Without Hate is a student led, grassroots organization that promotes nonviolence, unity, and respect in our schools. After the shootings at Virginia Tech in 2007, students at Standley Lake High School asked their classmates to wear white in order to show a commitment and trust in each other to make their school a safer place. The day was an overwhelming success. http://daywithouthate.org/
