Hey Firebirds! Ready for some challenges???

A couple of things to keep in mind:

  • *IMPORTANT* Find a space, inside or outside, you can practice these challenges that your parents are OK with. We have done some outside and some inside in our basement, which is pretty much indestructible:) If we practice inside, we have to do these challenges when Mr. Smerchek is not on the phone working...so we have to be flexible with our practice time. Help your parents out and don't distract them from their work!

  • Don't forget The Iceberg Illusion: When you see a finished product like the videos I will post, they may look easy, but I practice, and my kids practice, sometimes for a long time...so show some GRIT and don't give up!

  • and always remember....TRY YOUR BEST....FORGET THE REST

Challenge 10: Today we have a math challenge!! If you figure out how many minutes the 1st round will take...can you do that many jumping jacks???

Challege 9: Spartan Kids Base Camp Day 4. Balance, circuits, and BURPEES!!!

Challenge 8: Cupid Shuffle Plank Style! Watch the video of Haddie and I doing the plank dance and see if you can do the dance for the WHOLE SONG of the Cupid shuffle! Of course if you have a partner to do this with you can get creative with your plank dance moves; you don't have to end up with the same dance moves as me! HAVE FUN...Forget the rest!

Challenge 7: Spartan BASE Camp day 3. Today is a yoga day!

Challenge 6: THE WALL SIT DANCE. We did this yesterday, and WOW, what a leg workout:) We did three different dances for you to check out! (oh and Haddie already called me out for my shoes...they're on the don't wear wall:)!!! )

Tips:

  • Choose music with a beat you like!

  • Keep the dance short and simple...your legs will get tired as you practice

  • Take breaks!

  • If you have someone to make a wall sit dance with, do that! More minds, more creativity, more fun!

  • HAVE FUN...FORGET THE REST!!

Challenge 5: Work on balance and lateral movement with day 2 of the Spartan BASE camp!

Challenge 3: Day one of the 14 day Spartan Kid BASE camp. This is an awesome strength building, heart pumping challenge. At the end of the challenge there are some head stands. Remember back to our gymnastics unit, start with your tripod, use a wall for support if you need, never put all the pressure on your neck. Be smart, be safe, HAVE FUN, DO YOUR BEST...Forget the rest!

Challenge 2: The Push Up Dance Challenge!! Check Haddie and me getting our push up dance on! See if you can do the same dance...how many times in a row can you do it? Do your best and HAVE FUN!
