JCHS Student Parking FAQs

Why is JCHS switching to decals rather than hang tags?

• For liability reasons we must have a record of every car on our campus and know that each car is insured.  Maintaining car insurance is a state law in Georgia.  Additionally, this protects all of our drivers and their families in case anything happens such as an accident on campus.

What if I share multiple cars in my family?

• We have purchased extra parking passes that can be sold for a small fee to accommodate those with multiple cars.  Please inquire when you come to pick up your original parking pass.  If your family has MULTIPLE drivers, EACH driver must have a JCHS Parking Pass.

What happens if I do not purchase a parking pass?

• Students who park on campus without a valid parking pass will be subject to the following steps:

  • First Offense – You’ll receive a verbal warning or a written notice.

  • Second Offense – An official written warning will be issued and documented.

  • Subsequent Offenses – Additional warnings will be issued, and fines will be added to your student account.

• Important: All fines must be cleared before graduation or withdrawal from JCHS.

Can Sophomores Park at JCHS?

• Yes!  But you may not purchase parking until you have a VALID Driver's license  (not a permit).  Once you have a valid driver's license, a copy of your car insurance for the vehicle you will be driving, and your school pay receipt, you can come to the front office to pick up your parking sticker.

Will the Parking Fee be prorated? 

• No.  Parking at JCHS is a privilege.  No matter whether you purchase your parking permit in August or April, the parking fee is $70.00.
