We’re thrilled to report that the second week of our school year has been nothing short of an exciting adventure! Our students are diving into their learning journeys with curiosity and enthusiasm, making new friends, and exploring new ideas. It’s wonderful to see how well they are adapting to their new routines and embracing the adventure of learning.
Next week, our third-fifth grade students will embark on a new chapter in their adventure with MAP testing. This assessment will help us understand how best to support each student’s growth. Additionally, we’ll be practicing a safety drill to ensure everyone is well-prepared for emergencies. To help your child navigate these and every step of the learning journey successfully, we recommend ensuring they get a good night’s rest and be at school on time.
We know that your involvement is crucial to making this school year a success. Whether helping with homework, reading together, or simply asking about your child’s day, your engagement fuels their excitement for learning. We encourage you to stay connected and involved, and we’d love to see you at our upcoming Back to School Bash—a perfect opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher and kick off the school year together!

Did you know that our school has a brand new Specials class where kids in kindergarten through 5th grade get to unleash their creativity through movies, music, and even animation? It's called media arts!
Students won’t just watch screens, they will make their own ideas come alive. For example, imagine your child directing a stop-motion movie, composing a catchy tune on a computer, or publishing their own multimedia graphics! In media arts, there is an emphasis on providing opportunities for student voice and choice in the topics and digital tools they use to develop a variety of projects designed to help them build their confidence as well as their problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Safety is our top priority during arrival and dismissal. Help everyone stay on time and out of harms way by following our trusty eagle timeline and car rider protocols. Staff will be on hand at the front of the school everyday from 7:10-7:35 and 2:35-2:55 to ensure student safety.
Did you know we have our own Little Free Library? Located in the back parking lot near the trail entrance, this tiny library is filled with books waiting to be discovered. Feel free to stop by to take a book or leave a children's book for others to borrow; let's keep SJ Eagles reading!
Here Comes The Bus for the Jackson County School System is now live! Here Comes The Bus allows for families and students to track the location of their school bus.
