The school board's new phone policy has resulted in a 24% increase in Day User checkouts during the first quarter as compared to first quarter last year. This is because students who forget their Chromebook can no longer use their phone to do classwork.
We added ProQuest as another database option on October 1. This will replace EBSCO that will expire December 31.
The library closed for a few days at the end of the semester for testing and textbook collection. Students are now aware they cannot use their phones and must bring their Chromebooks each day, therefore we did not checkout as many Day User Chromebooks this quarter.
The librarian became part of the Instructional Services Team with the Instructional Coaches and Asst. Principal over Curriculum.
We enhanced our school reading culture with a traveling library in the CTE building and teachers posted "I'm Currently Reading" signs outside their doors.
