Grade 6

Over the course of a week, students should have the following:

  • an activity developing familiarity with Greek and Latin roots from the 4th Q lists
  • time and accountability (log, summary, etc.) for independent reading
  • a close reading activity (not all reads need to occur in the same week) supported with your recorded video mini-lesson(s)
  • an opportunity to respond to text verbally (Flipgrid, etc.)

Over the course of a week, student should have the following:

  • a sentence study activity
  • a writing task supported with your video recorded mini-lesson(s); the task may involve reading a model text to look for author's craft/writing traits
  • an opportunity to give peer feedback (every other week)
